New Zealand Archaeology Week 2019

The New Zealand Archaeological Association is working to increase public awareness and highlight the importance of protecting our archaeological heritage by promoting the work of New Zealand archaeologists both at home and abroad.

This will be the sixth New Zealand Archaeology Week. The event has been able to develop and grow due to the wonderful effort and input from the archaeological community, heritage organisations and tangata whenua.

New Zealand Archaeology Week 2022 events will comprise of a variety of events around New Zealand.  These events are being hosted by consultant archaeologists, museums, heritage organisations and iwi and will include public talks, historic walks, community events and displays across a number of regions.

Events are listed below, as well as on our NZAA Facebook page and Eventfinda.

NZAA is working with a number of partners to develop and share content on our social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Look out for the hashtag #nzarchweek2022

If you have any content you’d like to share as part of the week, please get in touch with Toni-Maree Rowe (archaeologyweek@nzarchaeology.org). Or share the content via your own social media, using the hashtag #nzarchweek2022
