    Dave Robson Memorial Fund | NZAA Putea Tautoko: Applications Open

    The New Zealand Archaeological Association (NZAA) would like to invite applications for the Dave Robson Memorial Fund | NZAA Putea Tautoko for attendance at the 2025 NZAA Annual Conference in Mount Maunganui.

    • Purpose: A fund to facilitate iwi Māori attendance and participation at the NZAA Annual Conference or conference related events.
    • Who can apply: Rōpū or individuals who are travelling to the NZAA Annual Conference to either deliver a paper, provide awhi to a presenter about a project they have been involved in, or attend a conference-related event.
    • What the pūtea covers: Accommodation and travel expenses. The fund will also provide one complimentary full conference registration (for individual application) or three complimentary full conference registrations for rōpū/ope applicants.
    • How much support: A maximum sum of $1,000 for an individual and $2,500 for a rōpū/ope.
    • When do applications close: Applications for the fund close on 6 June 2025.
    • Who makes the funding decisions: A panel of three NZAA members comprising two representatives from the Kaupapa Māori Advisory Group and the NZAA President or their delegate (who must also be a member of the NZAA Council).
    • How is the decision made: Sensible discussion and mutual agreement. Any conflict of interest must be declared and appropriately managed by the funding panel.
    • When is a decision on application made: Within one week of the fund closing date.
    • When are funds available to the successful applicant/s: From the date of the funding decision being notified to the applicant(s). Funds distributed must be matched to receipts supplied to the NZAA Treasurer and paid into a bank account.

    Funding applications must be sent to the NZAA Secretary (secretary@nzarchaeology.org). No form is required, but please provide personal contact details, a short description outlining why you would like to attend the conference, and a budget for expected travel or accommodation expenses.
