Walton Fund Applications 2026 – DEADLINE EXTENDED

    By Emma | Uncategorised | 22 July, 2026
NZAA would like to invite applications for the 2026 Tony Walton Fund. The Walton Fund grants are awarded annually for projects that promote archaeological site recording, recording of new sites, recording sites at risk of climate change, and/or updating old records. Work focused in areas of the country that is lacking survey attention is encouraged but not essential. Awarded grants up to $1000 are intended to help cover costs directly associated with field work (e.g. travel, accommodation), rather than wages.
Information about the Walton Fund can be found here.
Applications for the 2026 round of funding should be made to the NZAA secretary (secretary@nzarchaeology.org) by 31 August 2026. The successful applicant(s) will be notified in September
