    By Emma | Uncategorised | 8 July, 2025

The New Zealand Archaeological Association is inviting expression of interests for the volunteer role of Archaeology Week National Coordinator. The Archaeology Week National Coordinator has oversight over the events run during Archaeology Week throughout Aotearoa. The coordinator helps to facilitate and encourage participation in Archaeology Week, manages the publicity and promotion, liaises with Area Coordinators and provides a point of contact. The coordinator reports to NZAA council.

     Key tasks

    • Set dates for Archaeology Week in conjunction with NZAA Council.
    • Identify Area Coordinators and maintain these relationships.
    • Liaise with Social Media Coordinator on digital content.
    • Manage the Archaeology Week email address.
    • Promote Archaeology Week and events through advertising in AINZ, website, social media, news outlets, etc.
    • Maintain oversight of events and seek feedback from participants.
    • Maintain list of interested individuals, museums, heritage organisations, iwi, etc.
    • Provide reports to NZAA council.
    • Publish summary of Archaeology Week in AINZ.

    Please submit EOI’s to secretary@nzarchaeology.org by 31st July 2025

The NZAA Council would like to take this opportunity to extend their thanks to Toni-Maree Rowe for her enthusiasm and incredible work growing and developing Archaeology Week these past years.
