Archaeology Week Kids Day

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be an archaeologist?

For Archaeology Week 2025, join Heritage New Zealand staff to try your hand at sorting, cleaning, cataloguing, and investigating some Dunedin artefacts that are over 100 years old!

We’ll also try out dressing up as an archaeologist—photos encouraged!

There will be a range of activities on offer, including:

• Sorting Station
• Cataloguing Artefacts Station
• Cataloguing Animal Bone Station
• Dress Up as an Archaeologist Station
• Shoe Box Archaeology

This is a hands-on workshop, and children may get a bit dirty, so wear old clothes.
