A five day workshop on the conservation and repair of stone walls in Kerikeri, Northland. Day 1: Māori and European use of stone, looking at stone field sites and early European pastoral farming.
Day 2: Examination of three pre 1840 stone structures to look at stone type and building methodology.
Day 3-5: Practical skill workshops of repairing and conserving stone walls with a master mason at Edmonds Ruins.
Cost: $400 for 5 days
Please bring field clothes, boots, rainwear. Tuition, lunches, transport to sites and safety equipment provided.
