Ada Wells Exhibition

This mini exhibition displays artefacts discovered by Underground Overground Archaeology during an archaeological excavation of the site of Ada Wells’ nineteenth century home. Ada Wells was a prominent Christchurch suffragist. She founded the Canterbury Women’s Institute, was the first national secretary of the National Council of Women of New Zealand and was the first woman to be elected to the Christchurch City Council.

The artefacts are on display at Kate Sheppard House – Open 10am – 4pm Wed – Sun
