On 17 September 2020, the New Zealand Archaeological Association held a panel webinar on ‘Representation in Archaeology’ with New Zealand-based archaeologists, heritage professionals, and kaitiaki: Rachel Wesley, Gena Moses-Te Kani, Dr Des Kahotea, and Mana Laumea.
The panelists discussed some of the long-standing issues regarding representation in archaeology in Aotearoa New Zealand and in Oceania in general. This online kōrero draws upon personal experiences and indigenous perspectives with regards to the future of archaeology in Aotearoa and the implications for future students as well as the wider community.
