To celebrate Archaeology Week 1-7 April Louise Furey, Curator of Archaeology at Auckland Museum, and colleagues from the University of Auckland will be giving a talk on the Ahuahu Great Mercury Island Archaeological Project. The Project Team is in the 6th year of investigating the Maori history of Ahuahu. We will outline the results from some of the different types of sites we have excavated.
The research is a partnership between the University of Auckland School of Social Sciences and Auckland Museum, Ngati Hei and landowners Sir Michael Fay and David Richwhite.
