Location: Maungakiekie | One Tree Hill
Time/Date: 1 – 3 pm Saturday 28 April
As part of New Zealand Archaeology Week, Auckland Archaeological Society is hosting, “Terraces and Whānau: Maungakiekie as a physical manifestation of Social Relationships”, a walking tour of Maungakiekie led by Dr Hans-Dieter Bader.
Discover the history and archaeology of Maungakiekie | One Tree Hill, on this free walking tour guided by archaeologist, Dr Hans-Dieter Bader.
A part of Maungakiekie has been digitally reconstructed in the 1990s and a fly through created following the pathway (ara) through this area. We will follow this ancient pathway through the pa site on the ground and have a look at the form and function of the features we encounter during this walk.
