Take part in an interactive display featuring archaeological material discovered in Christchurch that showcases 19th century trading between Christchurch and the northern hemisphere. Come and try your hand at being a Victorian merchant and shipping goods from the far side of the world to Lyttelton and Christchurch. Meet some of the characters who made this journey and learn about the risks of transporting goods in the 19th century, from exploding beer to intoxicated ship captains and leaky boats!
