Starting at the lookout at 6 Sumner Road, Lyttelton, ending near the Fisherman’s Wharf on Norwich Quay. This tour will explore the 168 year history of the Port of Lyttelton and explain some of our recent archaeological finds. Led by the Lyttelton Port Company designated archaeologist, the group will stop at selected locations to talk about key archaeological sites. It is envisaged that members of Ngāti Wheke/Ngāi Tahu will be present and may contribute to the tour, in the form of providing a manawhenua view on the Māori archaeology uncovered.
