The 2022 New Zealand Archaeological Association was held at the University of Otago in Ōtepoti Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand from 21st – 24th November.

The theme for the conference was ‘Archaeology and the Climate Crisis’.

  • Event – Anthropology at Otago: 100 years

Wednesday 23 November

  • Field trip to Sinclair Wetlands hosted by Te Nohoaka o Tukiauau Sinclair Wetlands Trust, Lawrence Chinese Camp where met with members of Lawrence Chinese Camp Charitable Trust, visit to Gabriels Gully, end the day at Weatherstons Brewery.
  • The Kaihura (Māori archaeologists) caucus

Thursday 24 November

  • Paper sessions
  • Conference closing
  • Conference dinner held at Larnach Castle on the Otago Peninsula
